Surface treatment feature is the most important factor in porcelain-fused-to- metal restorations for bonding porcelain to metal surface. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of silicon carbide discs while were used in preparation of metal surfaces by Scanning Probe Microscopy and Light Microscopy. Surface topography which was created by silicon carbide disks on Wiron 88, Wiron 99, Remanium CS base metals and Pontostar precious metal alloys and roughness values were examined under Atomic Force Microscope. Traces of silicon carbide on surface which was examined under light microscopy. Different surface topographies of different metal surfaces were revealed. Silicon carbide traces were found on all metal surfaces through light microscopic examination.
